A pair of small yet substantial octagonal trays, fully hallmarked for H Phillips, London, 1948.

H Phillips is a scarce and sought after silver maker and is usually associated with commemorative pieces; small trays such as these are unusual.

The trays are substantial for their size, weighing 165 grams collectively. The silver has some tarnishing and surface scratches in places commensurate with age, however both trays remain in a very good condition overall with clear hallmarks. 'Phillips Aldershot' is stamped to the edge of each tray which also remains clearly legible.
